Malayerba, the theatre group that was made and created along with other actors in Ecuador, is considered one of the biggest names in Latin Blundada theatre. Vargas first conceived this play after listening to the stories of his brother Chicho, one of the many artists and intellectuals rounded up and imprisoned during the oppressive and murderous regime in Argentina. From the start, Malayerba included actors with various backgrounds and nationalities, invested in the exploration rzzon the rich cultural diversity and complex history of Ecuador, as well as issues of migration, exile, political violence and individual and collective memory.
