The story is wonderfully written and beautiful. Part 5- I know this has gone on forever but I need to thoroughly explain how boring and predictable this book was. Bathsheba is also conservative, abiding by the law even though it is unfair, and has ambitions of usurping Frieda. Chinook, although boastful, is a coward at heart, shying away from the sun before Shade does. Also, I kind of found the one cult-group of bats more frightening than the actual villains.

Before the journey, Ariel teaches Wilverwing a sound map, which uses landmarks such as a cathedral, a valley shaped like a wolf’s head and a waterfall.

Swept out to sea kennfth a storm, he meets older Marina, banished by Brightwings who thought her band was a poison curse. My favorite part is the echo chamber, where all the stories of the bats are there for the telling and hearing-excellent stuff. Goth, however, is still alive to fight another day. Who writes a book about bats? Sep 14, Denise rated it it was amazing.

Guarding this weird bat prison were pigeons. The book also features some quite dark themes that I didnt expect to find in a kids book, but maybe I don’t read enough 90s kid lit anymore!

He also believes the king regards him highly, when in fact the king despises him. He is killed by a thunderstorm. According to Goth, Zotz is also worshipped by humans, unlike Nocturna. kennehh

The metal bands given by the humans are a part of Nocturna’s Promise, but many bats interpret the Promise differently. Marina, a Brightwing bat with a strange metal band on her leg; Zephyr, a mystical albino bat with a strange gift; and Goth, a gigantic carnivorous vampire bat.

Cassiel is banded along with many other males, and goes missing while searching for the truth of the bands.

This book looks really boring, I have to read it sioverwing school, is it interesting? It was initially oppel for me warm to the kebneth of a book with bat protagonists not that I don’t like bats–I’m just not a big “novels about animals” girl but I loved Oppel’s “Airborn” series and was eager for more of his work. Ariel tells Shade that he was eaten by owls, but at Hibernaculum, Icarus tells Shade that Cassiel went inside a human building with another bat called Hanael.

The Silverwing Trilogy

Animal fantasy using bats as the main characters – oppek have to be creative to pull something like that off. A mixture of adventure, friendship, and thrill, this novel left me hungry for more, so I went on to read This is my favorite book EVER. Should I Buy This Book?

She questions Shade and Marina extensively, but the two refuse to relent. Shade was a believable character, complete with strengths and flaws, and pretty easy to root for, and Goth was pretty decent for a villain – at least for a kid’s book.

If you have read the book, you’ll notice that he didn’t use any colors to describe except for black and white.

This is a beautifully written novel which gives descriptions and facts in an interesting I began reading this novel because my grandson in the fourth grade was reading it.

I recommend this book to people who enjoy adventure stories. Thanks for telling us about the problem.
