The story starts off great with Crispin and Harley going through the streets at night to find a place to rest, eventually ending up in a cemetery. Crispin has seen ghosts in the dead of night, and sensed dimensions beyond reason in broad daylight.
Then, for a period of 20 yrs, both life got in the way trying to survive and then raise a family and I then relegated myself to only reading the classics, when I could or classics in the making Nathan Englander, et al. Over several days, Amity brings a complete array of toiletries to stash in her locker.

The story may have worked better for me if it had been longer. They are flavorful but not too rich. You have to wonder if maybe Dean Koontz is sitting at his desk one day when the phone rings. The best part is the last paragraph explaining exactly what the “moonlit mind” is.

Koontz did a great job at rounding out the story in an ending sure to capture the imagination of any reader by which Crispin’s ghosts are confronted head-on with the result conforming to Koontz’ usual high standard.

A Fable for All Ages. Actually, this one could have made an even better novel since it left so much of the story untold. The Moonlit Mind mimd a short tale where part of the action takes place across the street from the action in 77 Shadow street, but other than the geographical location and the fact that the buildings seem to share a presence of evil, the stories are not really related. Something I would have never believed of myself before the Frankenstein nightmare.
