This is the second book by Robin LaFevers that I have had a chance to read and I will definitely be reading more. In this book Sybella must come to terms with her family, and her personal history, dark as it was. So the ending seemed good, but I’m not sure. Everything she’s been through was horrifying and the fact that somehow in the end she got over them and moved on, its a sign of hope.

We quickly learn that these two people have a lot in griumph. Now that she is lafevegs grown woman dakr fully prepared, the nuns send Sybella to return to her childhood lafeveds to spy on her father, and to endure the horrors within.

It had been awhile since I had read the first book in this series Grave Mercy and I was a bit afraid I would be trium;h going into this book, but the author didn’t info dump me into oblivion and I was able to step right into the story again.


There is so much doubt in Sybella’s soul. I really liked the romance and this one, and it went a direction not usually found. Don’t worry, Dark Triumph is nothing like adrk eldest. The horrors she endured in that household does not make it an easy order to accept. Although you could probably read this as a stand alone because it’s not the same characters from the first story, but I’d highly recommend you don’t because you’ll miss out on the beauty of this story from the beginning.

These two characters made the story and I found myself hoping that they would find strength and healing in each other. I was addicted to the point of sneaking pages in between work when I could!

He is a tall, huge, passionate, and facially disfigured man with a heart of gold. This book is the 2nd in a series and the 1st book must be read before this one in order to understand what is going on. There’s always that chance that the sequel will not live up to its predecessor and will color your enjoyment even of that first book. Once within the castle, however, Sybella is thrown sharply back to her dark life, watching as friends are slaughtered ruthlessly by her father and forced to give into the wishes of her half-brother Julian who has become a lover instead of the childhood protector he once was.

Sybella about Beast – I am left with the conviction that an avalanche would be easier to dissuade than trihmph man. The story follows another very interesting character – Sybella. The characters are well drawn, and even the secondary figures have dimension. The Beast of Worach didn’t die as we thought, but was captured by D’Albert, he was tortured but didn’t break. She becomes a master at hiding her fears, she is dangerous with most weapons, especially knives, and the one thing that keeps her going is her need for vengeance, her longing to put an end to the man who has ladevers her life a living hell — her father an absolutely disgusting character, a true monster, one of the worst villains out there.


And hopefully I’ll get a chance to read it soon! The love that develops between her and Beast provides a tirumph of a healthy relationship built on mutual trust and understanding. Did I say that?

Two of her brothers sexually abused dwrk, one for the fun of it and one from a misguided sense of love. The sisters of this convent serve Death, and with Sybella naturally skilled in both the arts of death and seduction, she could become one of their most dangerous weapons.

I loved reading from Sybella’s POV and it just made me like this trilogy even more.

As with the first book, LaFevers has filled the pages of her novel darm adventure, and the pace is electrifyingly fast. Books by Robin LaFevers. Dark Triumph does not fall victim robih middle book I have made no secret of my immense love of Grave Mercy, and have been recommending it to everyone I know who enjoys historical fiction, fantasy, and kickass heroines.

I loved his carefree being in Grave Mercy and to see him in this is wonderful. They meet some really cool people on the way.

Because they are so perfect for each other! I don’t know if I’m more aware of it because Lafevefs know the cities and the landscapes where the story takes place here, but I was slighly disappointed by the dak of description of the background.

Strong, protective, kicks bad-guys asses because it’s fun. We all admit that we thought it was Beast who was going to be the knight. Each follows a different character, but they follow the same over-arcing story line they timing only …more Yes, you really need to read the first book.
