I got caught up in this great novel and wept along. Since becoming a full-time writer, Dan likes to visit college writing classes, has taught in New Hampshire’s Odyssey writing program for adults, and is considering hosting his own Windwalker Writers’ Workshop.

I ran that I missed a great deal of subtext because I do not play the game.

I don’t want to spoil anything but I will say that Saul was my favorite character. Four Dan Simmons books into it and I can say he remains near the top of my list.

Saul is famous for his theories about seemingly strange and impossible violence, but is as stumped as the sheriff. If I had been pushed to give an author I would have attributed the stories to Clive Barker if anyone. Natalie and Saul are so fleshed out, they feel like real people and you are genuinely invest This comgort He does much of his writing at Windwalker—their mountain property and cabin at 8, feet dzn altitude at the base of the Continental Divide, just south of Rocky Mountain National Park.


I usually keep the books which are my favorites and can’t part with. Long books often make it difficult for the author to maintain suspense without the story dragging I’m totally looking at you Stephen King but I found that Simmon Five carroin that I never thought I would say: In this particular work Simmons tackles on one of the most famous horror creatures – the vampire.

And no, that is no exaggeration either. This was a great and cooling summer read for me. Melanie has been driven more insane by the thought of Nina being alive, and sees the violence erupting around her through her lens of racism as a bad northern neighborhood gone worse. I think it gives crrion much more flavor to the story.

Willi takes over the “use and hunt” si,mons of the “game” and suggests taking the game global—which he and the televangelist support, and Barent and Kepler don’t. Highly recommend, but don’t read if easily offended or if you’re not a fan of gore and violence. Saul, Natalie and Rob Gentry were all solid protagonists, and likeable!

It certainly is a page-turner, which is a good thing given its length, though there is a slow patch right at the beginning of the End Game. He brilliantly used each one of his characters. No trivia or quizzes yet. There was a point where I felt like I was going to gouge my eyes out at one point because I kept feeling like the story just kept going, and going, and going Original, scary and brilliant And he will do what it takes to protect those he loves, no matter what the consequences may be.
