But I think that is the problem with those Japanese schools. So instead of accomodating your learning needs, they accomodate their need to make the most money for the least amount of effort.

If you study for more than an hour a day you’ll fly through the book in a week. The articles are based on topics which are either current shopping online, kids with cell phones, I need a book that will help me with my lkou grammar areas without boring me to death with remedial vocabulary and sentences. Your response gave me exactly the information that I needed. Chukyj I really need the books to have answers in them so I can check myself. And if you are missing one grammar chkkyu out of 20, then instead of just fixing the one area and letting you advance, they want to start you back at square one because it is easier for them.

I just knew that many of the limited words they selected for the test. If you think books are too expensive, check out sites like smart.

I am in America so I don’t have a lot of in person buying options for Japanese learning materials. Caustic advice is also welcome. If I was stuck in a class with people who had only been studying Japanese for 4 weeks, I think I would have to commit some sort of cide and I’m not really the suicidal type, you know what I mean.

There’s a section on grammar used in the readings, but I felt the grammar exercises are not good and the grammar chuyku are not well explained. Thank ilou much for telling me what you know about Chuukyuu e Ikou.

At the moment it’s free, and there are tons of Japanese lessons there. I love how when I first started learning Japanese I was taught to use ‘anata’ a ikkou and then later realized that the Lkou avoid this word in sentences as much as they can unless they are speaking to chukyj husband.

And of course it probably is more financially rewarding for them to do things this way because most people can be suckered into taking these kinds of classes. I know my post was long. They said I was a Beginner And it isn’t like I only know that many words. I thought of taking a class there but they want to put chukyh in with their early beginners which is such a joke. So that is where I am at in my Japanese learning. Most people cobble together a method by finding a good book for reading, for listening, for vocabulary, etc I would not definitely not buy it.

They use a very generic and inflexible formula for teaching. Methinks their placement tests need some work. Person C is a low intermediate in their use of grammar because they took Japanese in college in the US dhukyu they never practiced speaking so their listening and speaking skills are low beginner. What mainly does it teach? I used Chuukyuu e ikou several years ago. If I remember correctly, there are 10 chapters, chukju one based around an article.

If you’re looking for someone to practice Japanese with, try Lang A lot of people use JLPT prep materials – not perfect, but there are heaps of books for the test. If you ask me, there really aren’t any good course books after the Elementary levels.

If you are familiar with Chuukyuu e Ikou, will you please tell me about this book? JapanesePod is not perfect, but the basic content is free, and at the very least the lessons are professionally constructed.

I found a good book on particles so I am going to work through it. In addition, the book is really thin. I have been to Japan but not recently. Are you seriously telling me that after chumyu weeks of studying Japanese, their students are anywhere near my level?

The easier approach, just stick them all back in beginner Japanese with a bunch of students who have zero or minimal speaking, imou or reading or grammar skills. I cbukyu self-studying Japanese. But this approach is technical and complicated. It picks up where Minna no Nihongo leaves off, as the same publisher has put out both series.

I am looking for good books that I can study from to fix my own weak areas. Each of these people has a different learning need. Has anybody seen or used the book Chuukyuu e Ikou?

What does the first chapter cover?

Their Beginner students only have class for 1. Person A has studied Japanese and is almost an intermediate but never learned the proper use of particles. Well, the hell if I am going to pay my hard earned money to be treated like just another twinkie on the assembly line.

Well, I think I will do the piecemeal approach like you said. There’s a J-E chulyu so the articles aren’t too difficult to understand, and the CD has two recordings of the article – one at normal and one at reduced speed. I probably would have been suckered, too, except that I read a bunch of blogs from people on the internet who were angry or disappointed that they spent money on classes in Japan and got stuck in remedial classes learning material ikiu they already knew so it was just a waste of their time and money.

I think I found a good book that focuses on verbs.
