I don’t yhe start a series at book 2 but that is what I did. Gavin has no intention of firing her, he’s his own man with his own mind, but wants Liz to stop avoiding him, so he corners her during a spring training banquet in Florida. But I thought this book started to get good once we learned a little more about Liz’s background, and got her POV.
