With the look noveo this tome the standout, this is the best preteen-read-to-graphic-novel book I’ve yet seen, making it better than the Alex Rider, Charlie Higson young Bond, and even our co-adaptor’s Artemis Fowl tie-ins. Like a movie adaptation, amuleg, I must say I prefer the book, though this samqrkand still an enjoyable YA fantasy romp. The Amulet of Samarkand Jonathan Stroud. While I’ve heard of Jonathan Stroud before, I was not aware this was based on the first book of a series he wrote.
Overall, it was an entertaining read once I got past the diversions and really got into the noovel, but it’s pretty clear that the graphic novel doesn’t quire stand up on its own – hence the rest of the novels not getting adaptations as well. It really was a treat to get to see the different planes the way Bartimaeus gets to see them, the imps, the demons, and of course the climax of the story was quite captivating.
The narration in this book alternates between two main characters, Nicholas, also known as John Mandrake, a twelve-year-old human boy, and Bartimaeus, a djinn, sometimes referred to incorrectly according to Bartimaeus as a demon. They appear far too often in story line at the beginning and take up an entire panel, which totally throws off the reader’s visual progression and makes it saamarkand to get immersed in the story.

Thanks for telling us about the problem. Overall, a great fun read that will make you want to go out and buy the orginal books. I don’t know how many years its been since I’ve read The Bartimaeus Trilogy but I loved those books from the very first time I read The Amulet of Samarkand and was most excited to find out that a graphic novel version had been created.
Like in movies, the author and illustrator need to strike a delicate balance. The graphic novel samaekand a nice job of trying to capture that ineffable character that is Bartimaeus, however the shortened format really can’t do him justice.
Another magician is consumed by a nasty creature he summons. A young boy was sold at around age 6 so that he may be apprenticed to a magician.
As far as the story, I enjoyed it.
There is a bad wizard A djinn unlike any other will make you laugh and wonder how you could actually like a creature so devious. Sarkasme Barty xamarkand hilang sama sekali. Ended up taking it home.
